The Last War

There was a time when we would say
one more war.
One more, we too would say,
Just one more war.
We had a war, and then One more;
One more now, we said again,
Just one more war.
This will be the last war, surely the last,
Because we can't go on as in the past;
Surely this is our last war
Those who die - will know why
Those who survive - will stay alive
One more war then, just one more.
